Drugs

Lets face it, it's an experience most people will go through some time in their life.. probably more than once. But why is the law so forbidding towards these ingenious ways to have a good time faster? The class system that drugs are sorted into is just crazy, the think that amuzes me the most is that pot is a class B and ketamine is a class C!!! Now i've seen people of both these drugs and i can say i would most definatly be around the stoned guy.. odviously the government doesn't have a clue. I see drugs as the same as smoking, you choose to do it to your self, you know the risks before you do it, and unless your drugging someone else ur only really harming yourself. so why the big fuss, the problem with drugs has been created by the government it's self, if the not so addictive, more socially acceptable drugs where legalised then you wouldn't get dodgey dealers cutting your coke and MDMA with other potentially more harmful substances to get the most out of it. Not only would the drugs be effectivly safer (well as safe as drugs can be), it would be easier to track how much is going out and limit supply within reason and without creating this illeal drugs mess that the government is in now. And then again if its notillegal, it ain't going to be as "cool" to do them any more, so less kids are going to start picking up the habit.

coment on Kate Egginton's PDA post

I totally agree, it's always nice to see say a old couple who still hold hands, as you wish that thats how your relationship will mature instead of arguing in every check out que. But no one wants the pleasure of seeing a couple pretty much stripping off in the street, although, i have been guilty of this in pubs and clubs, because everyone wants a kiss when they have been drinking don't they, so i would say it's acceptle in these senario's, as long as they aren't using you to lean on and its slightly darker so you can't see the spit chain as they pull away. Abortion

This is a 9 week old aborted fetus..................... This has and always will be a delicate subject to talk about and people will be arguing for both sides untill the cows come home. I personally, no matter how horific the pictures may be, am still gana be pro-choice, although i dis-agree with having an abortion in the later period of pregnancy. Once that fetus has started it's own heartbeat it's a living thing, it still may be living off the woman and have no concious what so ever but its living non the less. BUT thats why there are rules behind having an abortion, its legal under 24 weeks, 6 months, its pretty much a full formed baby. After the 24 week period woman can still get an abortion if it is necessary to save the womans life or prevent serious perminant to physical or mental health and if there is a high risk that the baby will be seriously handicapped. I can't understand for one minute why people are against aborting in the first trimester, if it was the product of a rape or a mistake for instance, that child being bought into the world would not be wanted, what kind of a life ould that child have? most likely ending up in care or not with any kind of loving functional family. Like the reports on kid's having kid's, think about what our world would be like if abortions where illegal. We would also have a massive problem with back street abortions in that case, woman getting infections, leaving the fetus where ever was convenient, can you imagine stumbling across that? Ok mayb thats a little extreme but seriously why would any one want a child growing up knowing that it wasn'twanted or loved by any one. Then we come to the argument that you shouldn't abort just because the baby will be handicapped, if the handicap is going to be that serious that the child isn't going to constantly need someone to do everything for them, that isn't really much of a life is it, it's the same scenario as someone who is brain dead, or on life support, it's so upsetting and a lot of hard work for the family. It's not like it feels like actually getting murdered either, not denying that it must be god damn painful but the fact that it doesn't really have a concious, (can you remember floating around inside?), this doesn't justify ending a living things' life prematurely for the fun of it, but it must help people understand that most of the time it will be for the greater good.

Definatly not impressed with it still being legal to abort a 24 week old baby, because it is a baby then plain and simple

Having an abortion is always going to be a personal choice and there are so many factors that are involved in making it, no one will be able to understand that person's reasons and the issues behind the decision so no one really has the place to coment.

Infidelity

Loads of people at some point have either done it or thought bout doing it and in most cases it doesn't happen because you don't love the person your with any more it's always a little more complicated than that. I would put it mainly down to boredom, either with the relationship, work or the sexual routine you tend to find yourself in in a long term relationship. Especially if your living with your partner, you loose the sense of fun and excitment after a while when your stuck in the same routine, because when you do get to spend time together your generally too tired and p*ssed off after you get home from work to bother doing any thing, sexual or not. Or maybe your just a sex addict and your partner doesn't put out enough! Having more than one partner hasn't always been frowned upon and still isnt in some countries, many people are still having open relationships today, so i would like to partly blame our modern culture for all the heartbreak over cheaters. It is not only the actual cheating that hurts so much, the build up of lies and deceit can be much more painful than seeing your partner kissing some one else in a club, as this can always be chalked up as a mistake. The amount of time that a particular affair has been going on makes people resentful that they could be so oblivious and that their partners could actually do someting like this the person they are ment to love. Although , as already mentioned, it has little to do with the lack of love in a relationship that leads to people cheating, theres a lot more behind a decision like this, but people rarly recognise this and jump off the deep end, ending a relationship which was previously working for them in some way. Fair enough when it comes down to a serial cheater dump the b*sterd because they ain't gong to learn other wise.

Response to Jay langley's smoking blog

Smoking to finish off your image may work on TV, in films and with famous people but i disagree when it comes to the real world.. its an enjoyable habit, thats why we do it and the people who don't enjoy it quit its pretty simple. As for Pete Doherty, he may look cool but where has that really got him? fair nuff more money....which is spend on more drugs and fags in turn and this has certainly takin its toll on him, seen in his face and definatly in his teeth.. yuck.
Me being a girl and a smoker i think its silly to think that girls smoke to loose wait, judging from my experience when your bored you could snack same as with smoking, its brilliant when ur bored, but these girls your talking about, do they not realise that a bit of self control will stop them from snacking and putting weight on... and as for it being a hunger suppressant i tend to find i can have a fag when im hungry and fifteen minutes later im hungry allover again any way, so they are stupid for trying to use cigarettes for more than they are designed, these girls are damaging their health not just by smoking every half hour to try and get thin, but they are also starving their bodies of wot they need to live.

Smoking

At the end off the day everybody, smoker or non-smoker, knows the dangers to health this can cause, and as a smoker i can say that the amount of problems it can cause is terrifing. Smoking kills around 114,000 people each year in the UK, from cancers and heart related diseases. Health experts bang on about this consantly and in the past few years the quit smoking adverts and help seems to have been up-ed. Fair play to the people who want to quit, I would do my self, not because of the health risks but because it might help me in the vain attempt to whiten my teeth. In todays society they are a lot more problems than the smokers damaging themselves, Im too young to be worring about the health risks and living ten years less than a non-smoker, because at the end of the day, obestity is on the loose and i will probably live as long as every other non-smoker who enjoys to eat a bit to much. But then again at my age theres more chance of me being damaged by drinking to much, being hit by a car or just being generally stupid and either seriously hurting my self or scaring my self for life. Just like all the other stupid or damaging things you can do to your body, smoking, I find, is enjoyable.... especially when you've had a drink. I believe this is how many people start, or by mixing it with other enjoyable substances, not forgetting peer pressure and to look cool when you were still in high school. On the other hand, I think that smoking while pregnant or around children is completely stupid and inconsiderate, seen as the damage caused to infants is a million times greater, if you want to harm yourself then thats fine no problem, but harming something that you are ment love, cherish and do any thing to protect just doesn't make any sense what so ever.
Same goes for people who don't smoke, that should be respected and smoking where ur not ment to, well theres odviously a reason for that rule to be in place isn't there.
